July 17th, 2013 (Wednesday) Bootstrap: Algebraic Videogame Programming

Bootstrap: Algebraic Videogame Programming
July 17th, Boston, MA, 9am-5pm

www.BootstrapWorld.org/workshops
Light Breakfast and Lunch Provided

Cost: FREE

Bootstrap is a free curriculum, targeted to students ages 12-16, which teaches them to program their own videogames using purely algebraic and geometric concepts. Our mission is to use students’ excitement and confidence around gaming to directly apply algebra to create something cool.

We work with schools, districts and tech-educational programs across the country, reaching thousands of students each year. Bootstrap has been integrated into math and technology classrooms across the US, and is aligned to Common Core Standards for Mathematics, as well as those for Mathematical Practice. Recently, we’ve been featured on Code.org, MSNBC and the Huffington Post.

This summer, we’re offering a COMPLETELY FREE introductory workshop for teachers, held at Boston’s Northeastern University. If you’re a Massachusetts educator, or are flying into Quincy for the 2013 CSTA Annual Conference, our workshop is incredibly easy to get to (just a few yards from the a stop on the MBTA Green Line).

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Program Director, Emmanuel Schanzer:
